CYCLISTS have spotted neck-height traps on footpaths in South Oxfordshire.

Police received reports of string tied across two bridleways, at the neck-height of cyclists, in Goring and Whitchurch.

Two cyclists have reported the suspicious string. Neither were injured but officers have warned those on bikes to be beware of similar traps.

Investigating officer PC Becky Tanner said: “We are thoroughly investigating these incidents and we would like to reassure residents and visitors that we are conducting extra patrols in the areas of Goring and Whitchurch to deter any further suspicious activity”.

Anyone with information should contact the police via the 101 number.
