JESS Booth and her eight-month-old son Tyler helped give diabetes the boot at Barton United’s fun day on Sunday.

The football club hosted a children’s football day, bouncy castle, raffle and barbecue at Barton Community Pavilion and raised more than £1,500 to be split between the club and Diabetes UK.

Miss Booth, from Abingdon, said: “It was amazing. It was a really nice atmosphere and it is great to see the community pull together.

“I went along because I have a friend from Barton and her brother suffers from diabetes.

“I helped out with the barbecue and I took Tyler on the bouncy castle, which he loved. It was nice that he could crawl around on the grass as well.

“We were there for the whole day and the weather was good, although it looked like it was going to rain.

“Tyler had a brilliant time, he really enjoyed it.

“There were so many people saying ‘Look at him, he’s so cute’, and he loved that.”
