BEER lovers will be hopping with joy as a 17-day international festival gets under way in three Oxford pubs today.

Visitors can enjoy 30 UK beers alongside 10 real ales from across the world at the pubs in Cowley and the city centre.

The festival will take place at The William Morris, in Pound Way, The Swan and Castle, in Castle Street, and The Four Candles, in George Street until Sunday, November 2.

Duty manager at The William Morris Sian Dowd said: “We are looking forward to it. It’s a very good turnout every year.

“It’s just something for customers to look forward to in their local pub.”

Drinks from New Zealand, the USA, Holland, Australia, Belgium and Italy will tickle the tastebuds during the festival.

Beer enthusiasts will also have the chance to try five international beers and two UK beers brewed by women.

The Swan & Castle manager Andrew Williams, said: “The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that my customers will enjoy themselves.’’ Beers will be priced between £2.15 and £2.40 a pint.
