STAGECOACH is trying to fix a problem annoying passengers using the Oxford Tube into London.

Commuters say they have been disturbed by electrical bleeping noises through the overhead speakers when the Van Hool coaches brake.

Twenty-six new Oxford Tube coaches were introduced in July following a £10m investment.

One passenger said there was an “excruciating serenade of electrical beeps through the overhead speakers every time each of the new fleet brakes”.

“We have now been successful in fixing this on one coach and are now working through the rest of the fleet to improve the quality of our service to our valued customers.

“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
