VILLAGERS in Chadlington marked the harvest season with an event dedicated to apples.

The West Oxfordshire village held its annual apple day on Saturday to raise money for the Chadlington Playgroup.

Held at Chadlington Memorial Hall, the day featured an apple bake off, apple pressing, an apple throwing competition and a cider tasting.

There was also a hog roast, live music and pony rides.

Five-year-old Charlotte O’Shea, who lives in Chadlington, said: “I have been having a nice time. I have been on a horse ride.

“I like apples but I prefer apple juice.”

Chadlington Apple Day was first held in 1990.

Marcham School also hosted an apple day to celebrate the harvest season featuring apple bobbing.
