FIREFIGHTERS have now left Didcot B power station following an inspection of the site this morning.
A major blaze on Sunday almost destroyed four cooling towers at the gas-fired plant and at the moment it can only produce half the electricity it normally provides for the National Grid.
Fire investigation officers were at the site last night, and this morning station manager Graham Turner, based at Abingdon, conducted a re-inspection.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said: "The inspection this morning lasted about an hour.
"We don’t know how long it will be before the fire investigation has been completed."
The blaze is not being treated as arson.
A spokesman for RWE npower said: "The affected part of the site will remain non-operational until an investigation and repairs can take place.
"It is too early to give any definitive estimate of how long this will be."
