Curator of decorative arts at the Ashmolean, Matthew Winterbottom, pictured, brings out a reminder to turn your clocks back tomorrow. He said the Polish coach watch, made in 1770, “would have been hanging in a carriage for when people were travelling around”. He added: I like the size and clarity of it, it’s made to be read. There is beauty in its simplicity.”
