A PUBLIC meeting will be held to discuss the appointment of the new Bishop of Oxford.

The Right Rev John Pritchard retired from the role on Thursday and a consultation is under way on his replacement.

The meeting will be held by the appointment secretaries of the Diocese of Oxford on Tuesday, November 11 at Christ Church Cathedral.

The Bishop of Dorchester Right Rev Colin Fletcher is the acting Bishop of Oxford, a role he carried out in 2006 when Bishop Richard Harries retired.
