Police are investigating the death of Connor Sparrowhawk.
The 18-year-old died at Slade House in Horspath Driftway, Oxford, on July 4 last year.
The teenager is thought to have died after suffering an epileptic fit while taking a bath at Slade House's short term treatment and assessment unit.
At a pre-inquest review into his death today at Oxfordshire Coroner's Court, it was revealed Thames Valley Police was investigating the death.
Thames Valley Police spokesman James Williams said: "The police officers involved in the case are continuing to keep Connor’s family updated."
The investigation is looking at whether the death could be a corporate manslaughter case or a case of manslaughter by gross negligence.
It is understood it is being carried out alongside the Health and Safety Executive.
