RUBBING shoulders with supermodel Kate Moss was a dream come true for Britain’s Got Talent star Fabia Cerra.

The Burlesque queen from Greater Leys was left star struck after spending the day filming with the model for a BBC Christmas special.

And it will be a Christmas she will never forget as the country tunes in on Boxing Day to see her feature in the one-hour television adaption of David Walliam’s first children’s book The Boy in the Dress.

Mother-of-one Miss Cerra said: “I was in shock. It was an amazing day. Kate was absolutely wonderful.

“She was so friendly and polite. I was just blown away. It really was the highlight of my career so far.

“I never thought I would be on a set with someone of her profile. It knocked me for six.”

The Boy in the Dress follows the story of 12-year-old Dennis who dreams of escaping his ordinary life for a chance in the fashion industry.

It features an all-star cast including Inbetweeners star James Buckley, comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders and Goodness Gracious Me actress Meera Syal, as well as a cameo from Ms Moss.

Miss Cerra shot to fame in 2009 after making it through to the semi-finals of the ITV talent show with her saucy burlesque routines.

She said she jumped at the chance to travel to London after receiving a call about the role from an agent last month.

But with everything kept under-wraps, she knew little of the filming task which lay ahead.

Arriving on set, make-up artists and hair stylists transformed the dancer before she mingled with the supermodel.

Miss Cerra said: “Kate came in as normal as anyone. I was just delighted that she was as down to earth as she was because it made me feel more relaxed.”

Miss Cerra, mother to nine-year-old Leone Thomson, said she was one of four others acting as models during the shoot.

And as the only plus-size model, she said she was “privleged” to be given the chance to star alongside the slimmer women. She said: “Have you ever seen a plus size model with Kate Moss because I haven’t. I feel empowered now.

“We are all different, we have got to appreciate that none of us are going to be the same. I’m fighting for all the other plus-size men and women out there. David Walliams says it’s OK to be different. He is brilliant, he is himself.”

The programme will air on BBC One at 6.55pm on Boxing Day.
