ASTRONAUT Chris Hadfield’s book got off to a flying start in Oxford yesterday as he signed copies at Blackwell’s on Broad Street.

Canadian Mr Hadfield, who in 2013 famously sang David Bowie’s Space Oddity while commander of the International Space Station, also took pictures and videos of Earth below.

He told the Oxford Mail: “For the book I chose my favourite pictures out of 45,000 I took.

“This is my absolute best effort to show what the world really looks like from space.

“Not just highlights of another person’s perspective, but the massive vistas of this planet.”
