OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  • ELTON BULLEY, 30, of Ashhurst Way, Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted driving on a public road while unfit through drugs, namely Didcot Road, Long Wittenham, on November 3. Fined £250 and ordered to pay a £25 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months.
  • JOHN FAULKNER, 44, of Bucknell Road, Bicester, admitted assaulting a man by beating him on Banbury Road, Oxford, on December 16. Sent to prison for eight weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • LUKASZ KASZUBA, 29, of Turner Close, Oxford, admitted drink driving on Cowley Road, Oxford, on January 30. Had 98 micrograms in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mcg. Banned from driving for 20 months, ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs and given a community order with a 10-week curfew between 9.30pm and 5.30am.
  • GARY SMITH, 30, of Wey Road, Berinsfield, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause alarm or distress in Oxford city centre on February 1. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • MICHAEL COWLEY, 20, of Deacon Way, Banbury, admitted stealing £7.50 worth of groceries from Co-op in Chatsworth Drive, Banbury, on November 9. Sent to prison for 21 days and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • ROBERT PULLIN, 74, of John Kallie Court, Catwell Close, Oxford, admitted racially or religiously-aggravated harassment without violence in Oxford on July 1 and July 3. Given a community order with a ten-week curfew between 11pm and 7am and ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • STEPHEN RUSHMER, 54, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted breaching an antisocial behaviour order by carrying an open container of alcohol in Speedwell Street, Oxford, on February 13, and admitted criminally damaging a cordless phone at Abingdon Police Station the same night. Sent to prison for 40 days.
  • MIHAIL AMARTEJ, 36, of St Paul’s Crescent, Botley, admitted drink driving on Eynsham Road, Farmoor, on January 31. Had 128 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months “because of the high reading”. Also given a 10-week curfew between 11pm and 5am, ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and banned from holding a driving licence for 24 months. Ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • JOHN KERR, 29, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing four bottles of perfume, worth £219.80, from Debenhams, Oxford, on February 2. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a six-month conditional discharge made at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 4 for criminal damage and theft. Sent to prison for 21 days and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • IAN MCDONAGH, 40, of Northampton Road, Oxford, admitted stealing £50.40 worth of cheese and £32.78 worth of food and drink from Tesco in Abingdon Road, Oxford, on December 12 and December 17. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • JOSHUA SMITH, 19, of Stowford Road, Oxford, admitted stealing £40 worth of alcohol from Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, on January 9. Also admitted making off without paying for £124.90 worth of diesel from Welcome Break Oxford on Thame Road, Waterstock, and £112.45 worth of diesel from Shell petrol Station on London Road, Headington, on February 2, £82.98 worth from the same Shell petrol Station on January 22 and £76.48 worth on January 25. Sent to prison for six weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • BILLY JAMES, 26, of Marston Road, Thame, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Butter Market, Thame, on January 31. Fined £115 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • LEE KITNEY, 41, of White Road, East Hendred, admitted failing to notify the secretary of state of the transfer of ownership of a car from the vehicle trader on October 7, 2013. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • MOHAMMED SALEEN, 34, of Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted not insuring his car in Oxford on November 14, 2013. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • JOHN JAMES, 39, of Blakes Field, Didcot, admitted depositing controlled waste in Park Road, Didcot, without an environment permit on March 16, and failing to comply with South Oxford District Council arrangements for disposing of controlled waste in April 2014. Fined £640 and ordered to pay a £44 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs.
  • KATIE BENNETT, 27, of Robsart Place, Cumnor, admitted failing to notify Vale of White Horse District Council of changes to circumstance affecting entitlement to housing benefit and council tax reduction between January 2 and April 21, 2014, namely that her wages had increased from December 2, 2013. Fined £240 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £220 costs.
  • ISABELA LOSICKA, 35, of Blue Mountains, Wallingford, admitted failing to notify South Oxfordshire District Council of a change in circumstance affecting her entitlement to housing benefit and council tax benefit between October 29, 2012, and March 21, 2014, namely that she got a job at Waitrose in October 2012 and her partner’s wages had increased. Fined £550 and ordered to pay a £35 victims’ surcharge and £250 costs.
  • COLIN MCDONALD, 52, of Paradise Street, admitted having an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a bicycle saddle post, at SGM in Oxford city centre on December 3. Given a 12-month conditional discharged and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
