SARA Thornton honoured long-serving and exceptional officers yesterday in one of her last acts as Thames Valley Police’s chief constable.
She hosted the Chief Constable’s Award ceremony at Eynsham Hall, near Witney.
Five people, including a 92-year-old police volunteer from Deddington, were celebrated at the ceremony.
Today is Ms Thornton’s last day working for Thames Valley Police. She will be replaced by former deputy chief constable Francis Habgood tomorrow.
Ms Thornton is leaving Thames Valley to become the first chairwoman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council.
