ANIMAL rights campaigners have been demonstrating this week to highlight the case of a monkey being used for medical research.

The Fighting for Felix campaign began on Monday and will culminate with a demonstration today.

Protest group Speak is demanding the release of Felix, who was featured in a BBC2 documentary called Monkeys, Rats and Me. Campaigners will meet at noon today, at the Martyrs' Memorial, in St Giles.

Demonstrations have been taking place every day this week near the site of Oxford University's new animal lab in South Parks Road.
