TWO 12-year-old friends from Abingdon walked 20 miles in eight hours for charity.
Max Brinkley and Paddy Evans made their way from Abingdon to Oxford and back on Tuesday for Cancer Research UK.
Paddy came up with the idea after losing his great aunt, 67-year-old Ann Edwards, to the disease in January.
The duo from John Mason School, Abingdon, set off from Abingdon Weir at 9am.
Their journey took them along the banks of the Thames to Sandford-on-Thames, North Hinksey, Cumnor and back home to Abingdon with the pals keeping each other entertained by chatting, singing and even dancing.
Max said: “By the time we finished we were tired but it was a real sense of achievement.”
The boys have raised almost £1,000 and money is still coming in. Help them pass that milestone by visiting justgiving.com/sarah-brinkley1
