CHILDREN got a close look at creepy crawlies and a grass snake at Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
Live reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals were on show at the Parks Road museum on Saturday afternoon.
Yinka Falade, who went with mum Toyin, got to meet the grass snake and said: “I thought it was really nice. I really liked how it felt and I would like one of my own.”
Martin Wiles, 10, handled some slimy snails, and added: “I think the event allows people to see another side of snails and not think of them as pests.”
Museum staff talked to visitors about the work of wildlife, botanical and geological conservation groups across the county and where you can ‘go wild’ in Oxfordshire.
Oxford University Museum of Natural History organised the day from noon to 4pm with environmental charity Wild Oxfordshire, which encourages people to take better care and make better use of the natural world.
