PLANS to build a two-bedroom bungalow have been opposed by councillors because of parking issues.

Kennington Parish Council has objected to the plans for Grundy Crescent, submitted by Kamran Ahmed, largely because the house would have no parking space.

Now it will be up to Vale of White Horse District Council to make the final decision.

Kennington councillors said: “No allowance has been made for off-street parking “Reliance on on-street parking is inappropriate as the proposed dwelling has no street frontage and any additional parking will exacerbate an already difficult situation.

“The parking issues surrounding Grundy Crescent are, and have been for some considerable time, a significant source of concern.”

The council also said the plans would interfere with nearby wildlife, citing the need to cut down nearby hedges.

The parish council went on: “The parish council is aware of the level of concern being raised by neighbours to this proposed development and would urge that the district council take full cognisance of those additional objections.”

No decision has been issued yet.
