YOUNG children practised their balance during a parent and toddler karate class.

Children were encouraged to improve their skills through activities including walking with bean bags on their heads and spinning on moving discs.

Four-year-old William Bough was one of the children enjoying the activities on offer at the Can Do Martial Arts centre in Barton Mill, Abingdon.

His mother, 39-year-old Vicky Walker from Abingdon, said: “William had a great time, he goes to the class every week as well as the more formal classes the dojo holds.

“The class today was more about improving his balance, and he did very well at the bean bag exercises.”

About eight children with parents attended the session yesterday.

Weekly classes are run for children aged two to six as part of the Tiny Tigers Karate programme.

The centre, the only one in South Oxfordshire to have its own dedicated dojo, runs regular classes for adults and children throughout the year.
