PETS looking for a new home ditched the dog bowl for fine china at a tea party at Blue Cross Rehoming Centre.
The centre, in Burford, raised £150 during the party on Sunday from generous visitors who indulged in tea and biscuits.
Cats, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, horses and rabbits are just some of the animals that inhabit the centre but are looking for a new home.
Animal welfare assistant Vanessa Margrave said: “We saw lots of visitors and raised about £150, which we are very grateful for.
“We also had a lot of people enquiring about volunteering for us and we managed to find new homes for several of the pets at the centre.
“Thank you to everyone who came.”
The afternoon follows a report by the Oxford Mail on April 6 that the centre had been given permission for a £2.5 million rebuild of its premises.
