A FOOTBALL tournament has been held in memory of a school secretary who died suddenly earlier this year.
Koreen Davis, office manager at Harwell Community Primary School near Didcot, died at her home in January.
The 42-year-old worked at the village school for eight years and was formerly a pupil there.
The girls’ football tournament was organised by year six pupils including Koreen’s daughter Rosie, who captained the Harwell side.
The school hosted the event, which is to become an annual fixture, involving five local schools.
Teams from Blewbury Primary School, Stephen Freeman Community Primary School, South Moreton County Primary School and Hagbourne Primary School all turned out for the inaugural competition.
Blewbury ran out the eventual winners and all money raised from a collection on the day will go to the British Heart Foundation.
A special trophy was donated by Allsports Trophies LTD and kit provided by local uniform shop Trutex.
Over 200 mourners filled St Matthew’s Church for the funeral in January.
