HUNDREDS turned out to cheer on those taking part in the original Bampton Shirt Race.
A Star Wars fighter plane, a Flintstones 'car' and a Hogwarts Express train were just some of the chariots to take on the course around the closed streets of Bampton.
Teams of two or more made their way through the village stopping off at various locations to down a half pint of ale, or juice in the children's category.
The colourful vehicles were pushed around the course to much applause.
Money raised from the annual event will go to SPAJERS - a charity set up to help the elderly in Bampton.
A children's race, an intermediate race and then a seniors' race were all warmly encouraged by villagers.
