A MAN has denied raped a woman in a Headington flat before sexually assaulting another woman in the same property.

Catalin Horhota, of no fixed abode, is accused of one count of rape, two counts of attempted rape, four counts of sexual assault, one count of exposure and one count of burglary.

Prosecutor Timothy Clark told a jury at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, that between September 18 and September 21 last year, Horhota, 42, followed the first victim into a Headington property, where he first attempted to rape her before sexually assaulting her and then raping her.

The prosecutor said the victim managed to get away to a nearby room and tell another woman in the property, who was then sexually assaulted by the man while he was still in the flat.

Mr Clark said Horhota sexually assaulted another woman, who was sitting with her “head in her hands” in South Park, Oxford, after an argument with her husband at about midday on September 21.

He said Horhota was arrested and taken to Abingdon police station where he exposed himself to a civilian detention officer on September 22.

Horhota denies the charges.

The trial continues.
