A new specialist air ambulance will be unveiled today as Thames Valley Air Ambulance launches night-flying operations.
The new Airbus H135 helicopter has a specialist night-vision kit and will enable medical staff to extend its hours into the night.
The air ambulance charity is now in its 15th year and hopes the new addition will give it a higher capability to respond to more emergency call outs.
TVAA Chairman Sir Tim Jenner said: "Our doctor and paramedic crews deliver an advanced level of critical care to stabilise patients at the scene, identify their medical needs and get them to the most appropriate hospital for specialist care in the quickest time possible.
"The new helicopter with its night flying capabilities will allow us to extend our hours of coverage and enable our medical crews to respond to more emergency call outs, saving more lives."
