A 40-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested in connection with two sexual assaults in Cowley Road.
The first took place before midnight on Wednesday, September 30, when a woman was waiting at a bus stop outside East Oxford Community Centre.
Police said the victim, who was in her 20s, was approached by a man who tried to kiss her, but she managed to stop him and walk off.
The man then grabbed her hand and moved it over his body through his clothes until she told him to go away.
The second woman told officers she was assaulted while standing close to Cafe Coco near The Plain at around 2.25am last Saturday after a man approached her from behind.
The woman, also in her 20s, told him to leave her alone and he left the scene.
Detective sergeant Bill Sykes said police believe the two assaults are linked and is urging witnesses to come forward.
The alleged attacker has been bailed until next month.
Witnesses should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
