FLOOD alerts are still in place for the River Thames and its tributaries in Oxford.

The Environment Agency warned river levels remain high in the city and surrounding areas.

It said flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue.

The Seacourt Stream at Minns Estate in Botley has risen to a level of 2.34m, above the 1.81m level which can lead to flooding.

Hinksey Stream has also risen above the 1.19m level at which flooding is possible and has reached a level of 1.41m.

The Environment Agency said properties are not expected to be affected by flooding but people have been warned to be aware of the possibility of high water levels.
