A BONNET ruptured into flames as a car caught fire in Eynsham.
The Westbound side of the A40 was blocked following the fire at the roundabout with the B4449.
It is understood that traffic is now being allowed to pass.
Jack Watson, senior sales assistant at J&S Accessories Ltd on the roundabout, witnessed the fire at about 10.15am.
He said: "It's been out a little while now. A car stopped and caught fire and was pushed onto the side of the road.
"It wasn't a particularly big fire, just the bonnet and a couple of tyres popped. Everyone was watching.
"Two people were in the car, a man and a lady, who both walked off okay."
He said he thought the car was a Skoda.
