FOOD fanatics in Didcot will have something to celebrate as the first food festival comes to the town in November.

MasterChef 2016 finalist Jack Layer will officially open the three-day event at the Cornerstone arts centre.

From Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27, residents will be able to feast their eyes on chef demonstrations and enjoy samples from local food and drink traders.

Christine Wallace, from Didcot, who was a finalist on The Great British Bake Off agreed to organise the festival after successfully running a Didcot Bake Off for two years at a town craft fair.

She said: "The contacts I have made since being on the Bake Off have ensured a great line-up of chefs from a variety of TV cookery programmes and local restaurants.

"I will be on hand to ask questions and involve the audiences in some exciting cookery."

Each day five different chefs will demonstrate their culinary skills in a live theatre show.

There will be more than 30 food and drink producers and a Bake Off on the Sunday.
