AN ice-cream van man was robbed at knifepoint after being flagged down in Kelburne Road, Cowley, on Sunday.
The man who flagged him down ordered an ice cream and when the ice-cream man, in his thirties, turned around to add toppings the man jumped through the window and threatened him with a knife, police said.
He then grabbed the till and ran away while the victim escaped the van and chased him on foot through Mayfair Road, Hillsborough Road and Rose Hill.
According to Thames Valley Police the offender then ran into a property, changed his clothing and then disappeared down St Martins Road.
The man was white, between 5ft and 6ft with short fair hair and a spotty complexion.
He was wearing a white top with dark trousers before changing into a grey hooded fleece and dark shorts.
Anyone with information on the incident, which happened between 7pm and 7.30pm, should contact police on 101.
