AS school is out for summer the great getaway begins and with it long delays for commuters.
Drivers have messaged in calling Beckett Street a "rat-run" as people head home for the weekend.
Frideswide Square is also chock-a-block as people try to leave the city.
The A40 is very slow from Marston to Cutteslowe and from Wolvercote to Cassington.
Traffic is queuing on the A34 Southbound from Abingdon to Beedon due to a broken down vehicle at Beedon.
Drivers can expect 50 minute delays down that stretch.
Stagecoach Oxford has reported hour delays to its S5 service after an earlier accident on the M40.
All lanes have now reopened after a vehicle broke down but traffic is slow northbound at Junction 9 near Bicester.

The Oxford Bus Company is reporting delays of 30 minutes to its Gatwick service.

The 17:15 departure from Gatwick is subject to a delay of 30 minutes due to traffic.
There are delays on the trains as well going through Banbury due to a signalling problem.
This is expected to be resolved at 6pm tonight.
