AN AGED church under threat of demolition could finally be saved, with work starting as early as tomorrow.
The people of Bladon were worried they could lose their junior church - and the £360,000 they had raised to renovate it - after their building plans hit a stumbling block.
Due to the close proximity of the busy A4095, and the lack of free open space around the chapel, they could not work out how builders would access the site.
But after talks with Oxfordshire County Council, the project group yesterday announced a traffic management plan is to be put in place to allow deliveries to the building.
Contractors are due to move in at the end of this week and put boarding up around the site.
Spokesman Philip Rumsby said: "Although we can't complete the project this way it will mean we can make a start and utilise the first two grants before they expire which will give us a bit of breathing room."
