Firefighters were called to a blaze at a West Oxfordshire fishery earlier this afternoon.
At 12.48pm Thames Valley Fire Control Service received a call to a large outbuilding at Linch Hill Fishery, Stanton Harcourt.
Fire engines from Witney, Eynsham and Abingdon were mobilised and when crews arrived they were confronted with a large disused building in flames.
Access was reportedly difficult as no vehicles could get within 50m of the building but crews were able to put out the fire and stop it spreading to surrounding scrub and woodland.
Station Manager Gary D’Anger from Kidlington Fire Station said: “The current dry weather has made vegetation very dry and the fire risk in the countryside is very high.
"Please take extra care with any flame or source of ignition. Once a fire starts it can quickly spread out of control!’
