Bookies are predicting this week to be even hotter than than the bank holiday weekend.
The forecast for Oxford today is sunny with light winds and a maximum temperature of 26C, according to the Met Office.
Rain is not predicted until Friday but otherwise the week is expected to stay dry.
Ladbrokes is offering odds of 2/1 that the mercury will rise to 30C before Sunday, while Coral has slashed the odds to 7/4 on August being the hottest on record.
Met Office forecaster Chris Page said: “We’ve had decent sunny spells for a large chunk of the country.”
