An Oxford professor has been shortlisted for the prestigious Offsite Professional of the Year award at the Offsite Construction Awards.
The nomination recognises Professor Ray Ogden who is associate Dean for research and knowledge exchange at Oxford Brookes University and also a Tata Steel chairman.
Professor Ogden was nominated for his contribution across a range of areas in construction including “innovative building envelope design, light steel framing, modular construction and low carbon building system.”
Within the university’s faculty of technology, design and environment Professor Ogden is responsible for research in the schools of architecture, arts and built environment.
He is also responsible for the departments of computing and communication technologies and mechanical engineering and mathematical sciences.
He said of the nomination: “It is good to be recognised with this award shortlisting.
“It demonstrates the value and expertise of the work which we are bringing to what is an incredibly important sector.
“To be the only University-based nominee for this award shows the strong reputation of Oxford Brookes and the excellent relationships we have developed over the years.
Professor Ogden founded the Architectural Engineering Group at Oxford Brookes University after beginning his career with global engineering company Arup.
The Offsite Awards will be presented at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on Tuesday October 18.
