NEW slip roads providing a better link from the A34 to one of Oxfordshire’s key employment areas are being opened today.

The north facing slip roads at the Chilton Interchange near Didcot have cost £11m to build and have taken 13 months to complete.

About 20,000 new jobs in the Science Vale area are expected by 2031 and the Harwell Oxford campus will benefit from better access.

David Nimmo Smith, the county council’s cabinet member for transport, said: “I am delighted the council, with partners at the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Highways England, has completed another improvement to the transport system.

The slip roads follow improvements this year at the Milton Interchange.
