CHRISTMAS trees have arrived at Oxford Children’s Hospital and the youngsters on the ward have set about adding the decorations.

A generous benefactor has provided trees for a number of years but this year the hospital’s charity has given the children the task of furnishing it.

The tree will also form part of a Christmas appeal where people can leave messages for loved ones.

Head of fundraising for Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Funds, Eleanor Jones, said: “ Thanks to a generous donor we are able to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit to our hospitals with these beautiful Christmas trees.

“We also do a special Christmas appeal where people can write messages of thanks, hope or a special memory of a loved one on gift tags, and these very personal words are then added to our trees.”

She added: “This is one of many special programmes taking place across all our hospitals during the Christmas period to help make people’s time in hospital that little bit easier at this special time of year.”

This month is set to be busy for the hospital and all its patients with a number of high profile visitors set to bring tidings of great joy.

Oxford United’s footballers, the Ice Hockey players from Oxford City Stars, the servicemen and women from RAF Benson are all set to visit the hospital in the coming weeks.
