BREXIT is among the new words to be defined by the Oxford English Dictionary.
The word, which describes Britain's proposed exit from the European Union, has been used across the world since its conception.
The OED defines the word as: "The (proposed) withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, and the political process associated with it.
"Sometimes used specifically with reference to the referendum held in the UK on June 23, 2016, in which a majority of voters favoured withdrawal from the EU."
Other words and phrases added to the dictionary include glam-ma, to describe a glamorous grandmother, and Youtuber, which describes a frequent user of the video sharing website.
