AN OXFORDSHIRE man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 40s died from a severe brain bleed.
The body of Samantha Blake-Mizen, 47, was discovered in a property in Ludgershall, near Aylesbury, just after 12.25pm on Sunday, Thames Valley Police said.
A post-mortem examination the following day revealed the cause of death was a subdural haematoma, a bleed between the brain and skull which usually occurs after a traumatic head injury.
The force confirmed today that a 43-year-old man from Thame was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday and remains in police custody.
A person living in Ludgershall said they had never met Ms Blake-Mizen, and thought she had only recently moved to the area.
"It's a small village, I expect everyone is wondering what's going on," they added.
Anyone with information is asked to call Thames Valley Police via 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
