HUNDREDS of tulips have been planted at an Oxford golf club to support the fight against urological cancer.

Charity UCARE have had a specially developed tulip - the Tulip Ucaresse - made for them by an anonymous bulb grower in Holland.

Studley Wood Golf Club planted hundreds of the bulbs in support of the cause and a colourful stream of pink now decorates the golf club grounds.

UCARE senior executive Val Berry said: “The tulip offers something unique to the charity, raising money for funding research and raising awareness of urological cancers.

“People buy the tulips to support the charity and to remember their loved ones each spring, it is a sign of hope.”

Oxford-based UCARE works to support research into tackling diseases such as bladder cancer, kidney cancer and prostate cancer.
