A DRUG dealer who hurled threats at his cousin while grasping a blade during a FaceTime call has been detained.

‘Betrayed’ Connor Cox caused a commotion after discovering his ex-girlfriend had stayed at his cousin’s home following their split.

The 19-year-old’s ‘very intimidating behaviour’ landed him in front of Judge Ian Pringle QC, who handed him a 44-month sentence in a young offender institution on Monday.

Loved ones stormed out of the court room moments after Cox’s fate was sealed, swearing at the judge as he was dragged from the dock.

Cox, of Oxford Road, Littlemore, admitted affray and sending an electronic communication with intent to cause distress or anxiety, as well as two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

He was also in breach of a conditional discharge handed to him by magistrates for criminal damage last May.

Cox sent abusive and ‘hostile’ texts warning he would report his ex-partner to social services and threatening his cousin after discovering their encounter.

One message sent on November 26 read: “On my mother’s life, I will shoot him when I get there.”

Prosecutor Michael Roques said the pair denied anything sexual took place, adding: “It seems it did not sit well with this defendant, he took some umbrage [with that]. He is not one to hide his feelings.”

Cox damaged his cousin’s motorbike, left at his mother’s house, before ordering a taxi under a fake name and recruiting two others to accompany him to confront the family member at about 6.30pm.

The defendant, who was with his ex-partner for a matter of weeks, tossed threats at his cousin, kicking the door and alarming neighbours.

Cox had fled by the time police arrived at the scene but called his cousin on FaceTime while an officer kept watch in the background.

He was spotted brandishing a knife while declaring: “I’m going to stab you. Watch how many holes I put in you.”

Defence barrister Victoria Kerley said Cox, who was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome and ADHD as a child, ‘hugely overreacted’.

Family ‘noticed a significant change’ after he was knocked from his bike in Abingdon Road aged 11, leaving him in intensive care with two skull fractures and a brain haemorrhage.

Mr Roques told the court Cox was also caught at Tunbridge Wells’ Anand Lodge Hotel attempting to flee through a window when police burst into the building hunting for drugs on October 12 last year.

Police uncovered £1,000 on him and a mobile phone revealing he had been dishing out drugs.

The court heard 1.82g of cocaine, which was 91 per cent pure and of ‘import-level strength’, and 3.92g of heroin was detected.
