NEW faces on Oxford’s brewing scene put themselves on the map with a party celebrating the city’s diverse range of beers.

The Tap Social Brewing Movement welcomed scores of people from across the city to its party at their HQ in the Curtis Industrial Estate, North Hinksey, on Tuesday.

Some food vans from the area were also there on the night, which was held as part of Oxford Beer Week, so revellers could soak up some of their ales with a hearty meal.

Amy Taylor, one of the founders and directors of the new brewery, said she was thrilled with how the event went - and said it helped boost the reputation of the relatively new brewer.

She said: “The idea was to have a small festival to show the diverse range of beers that Oxford has to offer so we had a variety of local brewers here.

“It was really great on the night and good to see it so busy.”

Breweries showcasing their ales alongside the host’s included Hook Norton Brewery, Church Hanbrewery and LAM Brewing. Food was served by Chaat, a street food stand specialising in authentic Indian food, and Walls and Lyle, which serves a range of refreshments including coffee and homemade cakes.

The first ever Oxford Beer Week will conclude tomorrow.
