A MENTAL health charity wants to remind people that every little helps with the launch of a new fundraising kit.

East Oxford-based Restore has created the kit to make it easier for people to raise money.

It is targeted at people who want to help out but do not feel they have the time to commit to a major fundraising venture, such as running a marathon.

Restore community fundraiser Mackenzie Dancer said: "The packs are based around anything you can do, including incorporating it into what you do already.

"Not everybody can run a marathon or go skydiving.

"A lot of people sometimes do not fundraise because they think they will not be able to make hundreds of thousands of pounds.

"But it all adds up."

The kit includes Restore bunting, a money box and posters amongst other items.

They are based around bringing people together and talking to each other while doing fundraising.

The kit was launched on Friday at one of Restore's recovery groups at the Littlemore Lounge Cafe in Littlemore Mental Health Centre.

At the session about £30 was raised for the charity.

Miss Dancer said: "It might not sound like a lot but it all adds up.

"We invited people to come and eat with us and bring some cakes and cookies.

"We met some new people and asked for donations in return."

Restore supports people with mental illness to take control of their recovery, develop skills and lead meaningful lives.

It offers recovery groups, training and employment coaching.

The charity is based in Manzil Way but has a number of recovery groups across the city.

Miss Dancer said: "The groups we do at restore are based around work that helps people work together in a, supportive, creative environment.

"Littlemore Lounge is in the grounds of the mental health centre and is open to staff, patients and also the public."

Restore works with anyone who feels their mental health problem is having a substantial and long-term negative effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

As a charity it depends on donations to keep offering these services, and hopes that people can contribute money through the new fundraising kits.

It will then be posted out and should arrive in a matter of days.
