BRADLEY Smith is expected to ride in the next round of the MotoGP season after his finger injury was assessed.

The rider, from Forest Hill, had to sit out Sunday’s race in Barcelona following a fall in practice which left him with a badly damaged little finger on his left hand.

Doctors in Spain ruled out the need for an operation and a second consultation this week felt a skin graft was unlikely.

It means the 26-year-old is on track to get back on his Red Bull KTM in time for the race in Assen, the Netherlands, on July 25.
