A CHARITY challenge saw a community come together to create 300 cards.

Abingdon crafter Liz Yuille hosted card-making sessions in her home to be used by families who stay at Ronald McDonald House, who often do not have time to buy their own.

The house provides accommodation for parents while their children are in hospital, including at Oxford Children’s Hospital.

She said: “A range of people turned out to support this fantastic cause, from school children through to octogenarians. It was a great opportunity to give support to families who are going through such difficult times.”

Ms Yuille ran the event from June 23-24 in her role as a demonstrator for a craft company called Stampin’ Up!

It was part of a network of Birthday Wishes Challenge events which took place across the country from 23-25 June.
