OXFORD Brookes University is to explore new research on violence, celebrity and masculinity in modern media with the release of a new book.
Academic Dr Lindsay Steenberg will publish the research in The First Rule of Fight Club: Tracing the Gladiatorial Impulse in Visual Culture.
The book will form part of I.B. Tauris’ Gender and Popular Visual Culture series.
Dr Steenberg who joined the university in 2010 after receiving her PhD from the University of East Anglia is a senior lecturer in film studies and has won a research award.
