TALKS have taken place to target shoplifters in Abingdon.
Police community support officers in the town have had a meeting with retailers and managers at Fairacres Retail Park.
In a community newsletter this month, police said: “Many suggestions were put forward to reduce shoplifting, which will be put in place over the coming months.
“Police, Fairacres and Tesco on the Marcham Road have a very good working relationship, and will be working together to improve antisocial behaviour in the car parks and the shoplifting situation.”
Both Tesco and Fairacres have had problems with rowdy gangs congregating in their car parks, which will be tackled under a new public space protection order (PSPO).
