MORETON won all but one competition as rain did not deter their tenth annual beer and cricket festival.
The event, held in partnership with the Bear at Home pub, North Moreton, started with a four-team six-a-side tournament, which saw Goring A get the better of their B team, The Keep and Moreton.
But the hosts went on to win the remaining competitions, starting with Moreton juniors beating Cholsey juniors.
The following day, the host club triumphed over Comway’s Cavaliers and Aldworth.
The festival’s main event, the six-a-side tournament, took place on Saturday, when Moreton beat Blewbury in the final.
Moreton faced Amsterdam – who have played every year – on the final day, and triumphed again after posting 168 to their visitors’ 86.
That match was followed by the First Recovery Cup, which saw Moreton Ladies beat Kempston.
The visitors were dismissed for 48, with Mia Venner taking 5-6, including a hat-trick.
Moreton lost six wickets before securing victory.
