OXFORD City Stars stalwart Andy Cox has agreed a new deal that will see him start his 16th season with the club.

The 35-year-old can play as a forward or in defence and has the chance to extend his unwanted status of being the club’s record penalty-minute holder.

“I seem to say this most years, but I’m really pleased to have signed with the Stars again,” he said.

“As my hometown club it’s always an easy decision for me to commit for another year.

“The squad is in excellent shape with the new guys that have been added to some of the more familiar faces.

“With the new closer ties with the junior teams it’s a really good opportunity for me to try and share my hockey experience with some of the younger players.”

Head coach Kenny Redmond added: “We are delighted to have Coxy back next season.

“Having worked with him at Slough, I know he has great leadership skills and will be influential in helping the younger players develop at the club.”
