ABINGDON smokers have been urged to join ‘Stoptober’ and save themselves £250.
Oxfordshire County Council’s public health team is challenging residents to quit the habit as research shows that when smokers give up for 28 days they are up to five times more likely to stay smoke-free for good.
A special Stoptober-themed clinic is coming to Abingdon market tomorrow to highlight the benefits of going smoke free.
The event will run from 10am to 3pm and is being staged by Smokefreelife Oxfordshire - the county’s stop smoking service. Advisors will be on hand to provide advice on quitting and making referrals for ongoing support.
