Oxfordshire Family History Society will hold its 2017 family history fair in Woodstock, West Oxfordshire, on Saturday, October 7.

The fair at Marlborough School will feature stalls from other local and national family history societies, publishers, dealers in secondhand books and postcards, and organisations with other specific interest areas.

Stands will be spread across both the Marlborough Enterprise Centre (MEC) Hall in Woodstock and the adjoining sports hall from 10am to 4pm.

The Oxfordshire society itself will be offering advice and guidance on tracing family history (including transcripts of historic documents and indexes for sale on CD), memorial inscriptions for sale on CD, the opportunity to search its extensive indexes and practical help with tracing family DNA.

Visitors will also be able to meet family history societies from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, North Warwickshire, Suffolk, West Surrey and Wiltshire, as well as from the Romany and traveller community.

A range of hot and cold food, cakes, teas and coffees will be provided as usual by Good Food Catering.

There are several car parking areas at the school, which will be free to use on the day depending on the weather conditions.

Car park stewards will be on hand to point drivers in the right direction.

There is disabled parking immediately outside the MEC.
