WORKING over Christmas is not often much fun but an Oxford theatre is attempting to cheer up the city's festive nine-to-fivers by offering them cheap tickets.

The Old Fire Station in George Street is knocking £5 off the price of a ticket for their show 'Working Christmas' for anyone who is going to be at work on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

The show tells the story of Omar and Jo, two people with nothing in common, who find themselves brought together.

Alex Coke, Marketing & Programming Manager for the Old Fire Station, said: “One of the characters in Working Christmas is a cleaner, pulling extra shifts over the festive season.

"We wanted to reach out to the unsung heroes of Christmas – those who keep everything running while the rest of the country is on holiday.”

The show runs from December 6 – 23. To claim a £10 ticket, e-mail tickets@oldfirestation.org.uk and say 'I am working Christmas.'
